Craft to Heal Workshop Series
Craft to Heal is a year-long series of workshops helping you engage with a craft that you love (crochet, knitting, embroidery, quilting …) in a more intentional way in order to explore and strengthen different areas of your life.
It is the newest evolution of my decades-long work exploring the connection between creativity and mental health. It began with Crochet Saved My Life, where I shared how craft became a lifeline during one of the hardest periods of my life. That work led to Hook to Heal, a book offering 100 original exercises designed to help crocheters use their craft for self-discovery, healing, and personal growth.
Now, ten years after the publication of Hook to Heal, I’m expanding that work into Craft to Heal, an interactive, multi-craft program designed to help you explore how creativity can support your well-being—whether you crochet, knit, quilt, embroider, or engage in any other hands-on creative practice.
This is a structured, immersive experience that goes beyond casual crafting. It’s about intentional creativity, using your art not just as an outlet but as an active tool for grounding, growth, and connection.
What This Is (and Isn’t)
This isn’t a craft class where I teach you how to knit, crochet, or quilt. It’s also not therapy.
It’s something in between and beyond—a guided creative journey designed to help you use your craft as a mirror, a release, and a source of strength. Whether you’re navigating a transition, facing creative blocks, or simply seeking more meaning in your art, this is a space to explore and grow.
Why Join?
Because craft heals. Studies show that handcrafting can reduce stress, manage anxiety, ease depression, and improve focus. It gives your mind a break while keeping your hands engaged.
Because creativity isn’t just for finished products. We focus on process over perfection, letting go of pressure and embracing creativity as a way to support your emotional and mental well-being.
Because you don’t have to do it alone. Craft to Heal is a supportive, connected space, where creatives come together to share, explore, and encourage one another.
Because life is messy, and art can help you navigate it. Whether you’re processing grief, stress, burnout, or uncertainty, creativity can be a gentle, nonverbal way to work through emotions.
Because making time for creativity is an act of self-care. If you’ve been neglecting your craft or struggling to find balance, this program helps you build sustainable creative habits.
Because after years of research, personal experience, and guiding others, I know how to help you make creativity a meaningful part of your healing process.
What to Expect
Each month focuses on a different theme—mindfulness, letting go, balance, abundance, artistic development, facing fears—offering structured exercises, guided reflection, and opportunities for community engagement.
You can join for any or all of the following each month:
Introductory Lesson – A Zoom session introducing the month’s theme, offering foundational insights into how it applies to your creative and emotional life.
Interactive Workshop – A deeper dive with hands-on creative exercises, journaling prompts, and small-group discussions.
Optional 1:1 Creative Guidance – Personal support to help you apply what you're learning to your own creative and emotional process.
Join at any time—whether you’re looking for a single-session reset or an ongoing creative commitment. It’s flexible because we are not all the same!
